About Us

PaulaPaula Tufiș. Paula is a sociologist currently working at the Research Institute for Quality of Life. She studied sociology at University of Bucharest (B.A.), Central European University (M.A.), and Penn State University (M.A. and Ph.D.). When she is not studying important phenomena (you can read about those in her CV) she enjoys reading fantasy books, playing video games, capturing sun rays whenever possible (and storing their heat for the cold days), and being scared by all insects (butterflies included, regardless of their colors). You can find out more about Paula and her interests by accessing her pages.

ClaudiuClaudiu Tufiș. Claudiu is a political scientist / sociologist currently working at the Research Institute for Quality of Life. He studied sociology at University of Bucharest (B.A.) and at Central European University (M.A.), and political science at Penn State University (M.A. and Ph.D.). In his free time he likes reading, watching Realitatea TV, playing RPGs, defragmenting the hard drive on his laptop, and finding out about cool stuff other people have invented. He dislikes hot weather, sunny days, and having his picture taken (which explains why his picture on this webpage is not very flattering). Find out more here.

HaraHara the Cat. Hara is our cat, although she likes to think about this in terms of us being her humans. Sleeping seems to be her favorite activity. She also enjoys watching birds from the kitchen window, practicing her cannon ball technique on us, playing fetch with a piece of TV cable, eating plastic bags, and ignoring any elaborate toys. Since she is not very fond of computers, her contribution to this website will be minimal: she will insist we bother you with as many pictures of her as possible. She will also complain a lot about our design choices and about spending too much time updating the site.
